Lakes Entrance is situated on Ninety Mile Beach on a man made channel that links Bass Strait and the Tasman Sea with the network of inland waterways, coastal lagoons, lakes and swamps, known as the Gippsland Lakes. These Lakes cover approximately 354 sq kms and are collectively fed by six major rivers; Avon, Thomson, Latrobe, Mitchell, Nicholson and Tambo rivers.
Servicing East Gippsland, Victoria, Lakes Entrance Helicopters (LEH) provides charters, pre-packaged scenic flights and tailored helicopter services for events and special occasions. These flights are conducted from the Lakes Entrance Airfield at Kalimna West, Lakes Entrance, East Gippsland over the summer months. Office hours are 10:00am to 5:30pm AEDT Wednesday to Sunday, subject to change without notice. Bookings are essential to ensure you secure your preferred time.
Please be aware there are two privately owned airfields at Lakes Entrance, being:
- Lakes Entrance Airfield (YLKE)
- Great Lakes Airfield (YGRL)
