What is the minimum number of passengers required?

All flights are subject to a minimum of 2 passengers.

What is the maximum number of passengers per flight?

Our standard helicopters carry a maximum of 3 passengers. One infant can sit on the lap of an adult (no charge) per flight. Children and adults must occupy their own seat.

What are the age groups?
  • Infant: Less than 3 years old
  • Child: Between 3 years and less than 13 years old
  • Adult: 13 years and older

Is there a minimum or maximum age limit?

There are no age restrictions for our helicopter flights.

How much is it for children?

Our helicopter flights are priced per seat, adults and children are the same price. However, a child under the age of 3 is classified as an infant, and may be carried on the lap of an adult at no charge (limited to one infant per flight).

Is there any weight restriction?

Our standard helicopters have a maximum seat loading of 130 Kgs.

Can I use my mobile phone?

Yes, you may use your mobile phone if you feel it is necessary.

Can I take photos?

Yes, our helicopters have clear windows which enable you to take incredible photos from above. However, do not lean against the perspex windows as this will scratch the surface and produce really blurred photos. Do not take photos out of open windows or vents.

What do I need to bring and wear?

A camera or video camera is a must. A smart phone with a camera can be used. Wear what you would in a car. Flat shoes are recommended and don't forget your sunglasses on bright sunny days.

I am pregnant. Can I fly in the helicopter?

Helicopter flights do not experience the high altitudes that are reached by aeroplanes and the flight times are much less therefore there are no concerns for a pregnant woman to fly. It is completely the decision of the individual and we do suggest you seek advice from your medical practitioner.

Do you fly if it is windy or raining?

Yes, we still continue to operate in most weather conditions unless extreme. If you are concerned about the weather please do not hesitate to Contact Us and speak to an experienced pilot.

What happens if the weather is really bad?

If at the time of departure, the Pilot In Command deems the flight cannot proceed due to bad weather conditions and thus raising safety concerns, the flight will be cancelled and we will work with you to reschedule to a suitable time. Do you fly at night?

All flights are conducted during daylight hours.

Do I need to make a Booking?

Yes, Bookings are essential to ensure your preferred time is available.

Can I upgrade to a longer Scenic Flight?

Yes. Scenic Flights may be upgraded at time of Booking. The upgrade cost is the per person difference between the two Scenic Flights. Please let us know when making the Booking that you wish to upgrade.

Can additional passengers be added to a Scenic Flight on the day?

Yes. If the third seat is available a passenger can be added to the flight. If more then one passenger is added, another flight will be scheduled, so some advanced notice is greatly appreciated.

Do you sell Gift Certificates?

Yes, we sell Gift Certificates online (preferred), over the phone or at the airfield.

How do I redeem a Gift Certificate?

BOOK a Scenic Flight to redeem a Gift Certificate and enter the number during CHECKOUT. Do not forget to bring a copy of the Gift Certificate on the day of your flight.

What happens if I have made a Booking and need to reschedule?

What happens if I have paid for a Booking and need to cancel?

Can we organise a flight that is different to those advertised on your website?

Yes, Lakes Entrance Helicopters can customise a flight to suit your needs. Please do not hesitate to Contact Us to discuss where you would like to go.

Do you pick up passengers from Melbourne?

Yes, we can pick up customers from Moorabbin and Essendon Airports, but some luggage restrictions apply. Please do not hesitate to Contact Us to discuss your requirements.

Do you provide transfers from accommodation?

Local transfers can be arranged, subject to staff and vehicle availability.
