    Location

    Lakes Entrance Helicopters are located in East Gippsland, Victoria. Scenic Flights and Heli-Experiences are conducted from the Lakes Entrance Airfield at Kalimna West. We are located on the Princes Highway 5 kms before entering Lakes Entrance from Bairnsdale and can be found in Google Maps. Enter via Comers Road, directly opposite the R.E.A.L. Garden Centre entrance.

    From Melbourne

    Lakes Entrance is approximately 3.5-4 hours drive from Melbourne. Other transport options to Lakes Entrance:

    • VLine train service to Bairnsdale, then
    • Public Transport Victoria coach service to Lakes Entrance, or
    • Charter flight into Lakes Entrance Airfield with prior arranged.

    Peak Season (Summer) office hours are 10:00am to 5:30pm Thursday to Monday, subject to change without notice. Bookings are essential to ensure you secure your preferred time. Please check our availability schedule for days of operation outside the Peak Season (Summer).

    All flights are subject to a minimum of 2 passengers.
    Our Robinson 44 helicopter has 4 seats and carry 3 passengers. One infant under the age of 3 may be carried on an adult lap free of charge (limited to one infant per flight). Children and adults must occupy their own seat. Groups with 4 or more passengers will become multiple flights. Keep this in mind when booking online as multiple bookings can be added to the cart.
    • Infant: Less than 3 years old
    • Child: Between 3 years and less than 13 years old
    • Adult: 13 years and older
    One infant under the age of 3 may be carried on an adult lap free of charge (limited to one infant per flight). Children and adults must occupy their own seat.
    There are no age restrictions for our helicopter flights.
    Our helicopter flights are priced per seat, adults and children are the same price. However, a child under the age of 3 is classified as an infant, may be carried on an adult lap free of charge (limited to one infant per flight).
    Our helicopters have a maximum individual passenger weight of 130kg and a total passenger weight of 275kg.
    Yes, you may use your mobile phone if you feel it is necessary.
    Yes, our helicopters have clear windows which enable you to take incredible photos from above. However, do not lean against the perspex windows as this will scratch the surface and produce really blurred photos. Do not take photos out of open windows or vents.
    A camera or video camera is a must. A smart phone with a camera can be used. Wear what you would in a car. Flat shoes are recommended and don't forget your sunglasses on bright sunny days.
    Helicopter flights do not experience the high altitudes that are reached by aeroplanes and the flight times are much less therefore there are no concerns for a pregnant woman to fly. It is completely the decision of the individual and we do suggest you seek advice from your medical practitioner.
    Most customers with limited mobility are still able to fly in the helicopter. We do have a single step to assist with entry/exit and can provide some assistant, however, you may want to consider travelling with your support person.     Yes, we do to operate in most weather conditions unless extreme. If you are concerned about the weather please do not hesitate to Contact Us and speak to an experienced pilot.

    If at the time of departure, the Pilot In Command deems the flight cannot proceed due to bad weather conditions and thus raising safety concerns, the flight will be cancelled and we will work with you to reschedule to a suitable time.     Yes, Bookings are essential to ensure your preferred time is available.

    Yes. Scenic Flights may be upgraded at time of Booking. The upgrade cost is the per person difference between the two Scenic Flights. Please let us know when making the Booking that you wish to upgrade.

    Yes. If the third seat is available a passenger can be added to the flight. If more then one passenger is added, another flight will be scheduled, so some advanced notice is greatly appreciated.

    Gift Certificates are no long available for purchase. You can still Gift a Scenic Flight, however, it will require a date and time booking. Payment can be made on the day at the airfield.

    Existing Gift Certificates can be redeemed when booking a Scenic Flight until they expire.

    Gift Certificate are valid for 36 months from date of purchase.
